Multiple slack instances

on first launch of slack as flatpak, my system immediately began to be extrwmely slow. ps showed there were 10+ instances of slack launched that I could count before my system locked up and I had to hard reset. on reboot, the same thing happened except I did not try to launch slack. I tried to get in and remove it, but the system locked up hard again before I was able to do much more than open a terminal. I had to hard reset again and on reboot go init 3 to be able to remove slack, all its dirs and files and then remove flatpak to be able to boot into my system normally.

That was ridiculous. New install and updated Fedora 41 cinammon.
