Historical Data for New Grad Student?
Hello! I am a grad student and my research deals with networking. I just discovered this repo and FireHOL, and I think this is an awesome resource. I was disappointed to learn that Git and GitHub have issues handling historical data as this would have been extremely useful for helping with my classes and research. I am trying to use these lists with data I collected towards the end of last year, but since I just got here it is very difficult to bridge the 3-6 month gap. Is there an alternative way to know what these lists were like in Sept-Nov of 2020?
On a related note, has FireHOL considered hosting historical information on a cloud service like AWS or GoogleCloud instead of GitHub so the research community can leverage this data similar to CommonCrawl? I think that doing this would make an excellent resource for the networking and security research communities.
Hello, maybe who in community can shared historical data?
The FireHOL ipsets and project appear not to be actively maintained. I'm the operator one of the sources of feed data from DataPlane.org. I would consider partnering with PhD researchers as I am a PhD candidate myself. See if what is there is the kind of thing of interest. If so, send an email to the contact address listed with a brief summary. Please include any link and any additional information about your institution, advisor, past research work, and so on.
