FINOS SIG Leads are responsible for observing the FINOS guidelines for running project meetings. Project maintainers can find additional resources in the FINOS Maintainers Cheatsheet.
All participants in FINOS project meetings are subject to the LF Antitrust Policy, the FINOS Community Code of Conduct and all other FINOS policies.
FINOS meetings involve participation by industry competitors, and it is the intention of FINOS and the Linux Foundation to conduct all of its activities in accordance with applicable antitrust and competition laws. It is therefore extremely important that attendees adhere to meeting agendas, and be aware of, and not participate in, any activities that are prohibited under applicable US state, federal or foreign antitrust and competition laws. FINOS SIG meetings may be recorded for use solely by the FINOS team for administration purposes. In very limited instances, and with explicit approval, recordings may be made more widely available.

Notes from meeting:

InnerSource SIG Co-lead

Elspeth announced she is stepping down as InnerSource SIG Co-lead, to focus on other related priorities (congratulations on her appointment as OSR SIG Co-lead).
We would like to thank her for her contributions to the InnerSource SIG. Thankfully, Elspeth confirmed she will still be dropping into the InnerSource SIG in the future.

Update from Chamindra and the InnerSource License Working Group:

License WG progressing. Set of clauses created, focused on human readable versions (before legal text is added).
Call for more input - Clare noted that it can be shared in the new ISPO Working Group as ISC which may have feedback.

Logistics Issue Noted:

License WG is conducted via Zoom. There have been some issues with Zoom - participants need to log in to Zoom to participate (to protect against Zoom bombing) - there has been an experience of Zoom bombing with really negative experience - we need to protect against this.
James to investigate alternatives and Elspeth has volunteered to test.

James gave feedback on on the NY OSSF FINOS Meeting:

Largest OSSF to date, 500 people passed through
Depth of talks well received.
There were Expos for the SIGs and WGs.
Booths available for SIGs.
OSS maturity model contributed by Wipro announced from Keynote.
FDC3 big focus.
OSPO round-table - included talk about OSR 2023 strategy
Jim St Clair coming in as a consultant to bring together OSR strategy for the FINOS board for 2023:
OS maturity model
Training, for banks, including certification, for job roles/disciplies
TODO Group - looking for synergies
Materials from the OSR SIG, sharing strategy
Round table (acting as a feedback loop)
Opportunity for Jim to potentially also join InnerSource SIG
Backstage didn’t feature widely at the event, but potential for further exploration

Backstage:

Backstage appearing more heavily as strategy for DevOps SIG, focusing on the integration (plumbing). Opportunity for Developer Experience to be explored by InnerSource SIG.
We can ask Backstage to come and present how Backstage is being used for InnerSource.
Opportunity for Deutsche Bank to deep dive on their experiences.
James suggestion: Miguel Capitao can participate and contribute their experiences
Feedback from Miguel: there has been a previous event for Spotify - we can repeat that content.
Plan for early Feb webinar on Zoom.
