Collapse and expand categories when grouping / Set Default view
What's the Problem?
- When grouping by any criteria it can get messy with lots of files and clicking in the group name takes to the summary view and that doesnt really add any practical use.
- Applying the same kind of view, order and group to each folder can become very repetitive
Solution/Idea
-
It would be helpful to have the option to collapse and expand the groups (like the system explorer does) see attached capture
-
Being able to set the actual view preferences as default for all folders: (kind, order, group and collapsed). Would be really good
Alternatives
Default system explorer

For point 2 you can try to turn off "enable individual preferences for folders" under Settings
Seconded. Collapsible groups are a big part of how I use File Explorer normally when I have a complicated set of files.
Asking @yaichenbaum for approval.
This should also replace the semantic view.
I would also love this =) It is how I clean up files when I have been rapid-fire working and need to clean up. Thank you!
