Bug: Router SAMBA network drive doesn't show username and password prompt

Open Shuttleman58 opened this issue 5 months ago • 4 comments

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

At present, Files detects I have a drive attached to my router accessible as a shared drive. If I click on it, I get the error that "guest login" is blocked. This is expected.

A username and password is required but there is no apparent option to enter that information. It would be good if I could do this from files or be directed to the proper location in Windows to enter that information.

Running Win 11 25H2 locally.

Requirements

Allow access to secure SMB connections

Files Version

4.0.11.0

Windows Version

11.26200.7019

Thanks for the report, Files already supports SMB, can you see if this is an issue in the preview version. https://files.community/download

Sorry it's taken a few days to get back to this. I installed the preview version (given as 4.0.17.0) and it does seem to detect devices when I click on Network and lists them in a tab.

Hmm. The problem did re-occur. No obvious place to input the login info.
