Bug: Issue with File Focus in Preview Pane

Open Lukiluc29 opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

Description

I've encountered an issue while using Files. When I open a document, such as a Word document, and have the preview pane in Files set to "Details," whenever I save or perform automatic saves, it causes Files to take focus and come to the foreground. This can be very disruptive, especially when I'm editing multiple files with Files open.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Open the preview pane
  2. Open a Word file for example
  3. Make some changes to the file and save it

Requirements

Implement a solution to prevent Files from taking focus when performing save actions.

Files Version

2.5.29.0

Windows Version

10.0.22621.2215

Description When I edit a word or excel file, the current window moves from the word/excel app to the folder (files app) as there is a change made to the original document. This might be happening as I have side preview on.

Steps To Reproduce Open the files app and enable side preview create new excel or word file adjust/edit the excel/word file (inside the file) while editing/working on the file, if you have clicked on the file from the files window, then after that started working on the excel or word file, then you will see the problem. Requirements Fix crash that occurs when editing file and having the side preview on.

Files Version 3.2.0.0

Windows Version 10.0.19045.3996

We're not able to reproduce the issue on our end, it's also possible that it's only an issue on versions of Windows before 10.0.22621.2215.
