Feature: Default Catalog
Hey there! I've been loving File Centipede ever since I bought it from you, really. But there's some particular things I feel like that are missing that could be great, and one of those features is a default selected/automatic "catalog" that is applied to when you download files, so that it will be the default tag & directory, but you can change in the dialog option as usual.
Also, as much as I think the logo is funny, is it possible to change the logo in the resource files manually? Having a goose on my tab bar is funny but raises eyebrows at my work computer 😂
Hi! I'm not related in the development of FileCentipede in anyway, but I'm curious about this. Could you make an example of how it should work?

Not all too difficult. I have plenty of catalogs I use for organization. The torrent catalog for example has the directory set to somewhere else for torrent downloads specifically, while the catalog for web downloads has also the directory set to somewhere else, equally so for the game mods catalog. What I am asking for, is to have a "checkbox" that will make the chosen catalog the default catalog that downloads will be assigned to if they come from the Browser (or have a specific format, such as torrents or specific file extensions).
Here, I even made an example of how that could look like in the UI:

It will make it so that all future downloads will automatically get assigned to that catalog, rather than "---" as it is described in the download dialog.
In addition to that, the field for "Preseted" should also include a URL option, so that when you download from a specific domain/website, that all downloads originating from there will get downloaded into x catalog so they will automatically land in that specified directory.
I'm talking about when you download something, the "Catalog" option is set to "---" by default, and even if you specify a catalog for torrents or for a file extension (.zip, .rar, etc.), it's always "---" and you gotta choose it in order to make files download into that directory that the Catalog is assigned to. Here:

All I want is for a Catalog to automatically be chosen if I download torrents, or certain files with certain extensions (a folder/Catalog for pictures, and one for archives, etc.), or from some specific URL (like mods from NexusMods all get downloaded into a ".../mods" because they all originate from cdn.nexusmods... or something). And most important of all, having a "Default" option for when you don't have something specified like torrents or images or archives or whatever it is, that it gets downloaded into the default/standard directory for your default/main catalog.
In addition to that, the field for "Preseted" should also include a URL option, so that when you download from a specific domain/website, that all downloads originating from there will get downloaded into x catalog so they will automatically land in that specified directory.

For each catalog individually I meant obviously.
I'm currently working on another project, I will add this after it's done.
You can use "exe icon changer" to change the icon.

No problem, was a suggestion so it doesn't need to be implemented tomorrow hahaha
