Version

2.33.0

Description

Hello,

On version 2.33.0. I have the following issues when playing mp4 videos on iPad 18.5 on Safari:

  • I cannot drag the position slider to go to a different position. I can tap to jump, but not drag (so I can see the video at the current position while dragging)
  • I cannot tap to switch between the time elapsed and the time remaining.
  • the zoom in gesture does not make the video full screen anymore
  • the full screen and pip icons are very small and hard to tap on

If it matters, fivebrowser is running in docker on Alpine 3.22 server

What did you expect to happen?

All those features worked in 2.27.0, which is the latest usable one for me.

What actually happened?

No response

Reproduction Steps

Simply open an MP4 file

I think maybe it is a problem of video.js ? Maybe we use it in a wrong way? Using video.js doesn't seem to have any particular advantages, except for supporting .srt subtitles? If we directly use the html video tag, all these problems will be eliminated.

Maybe it is possible to add an option to choose between the two players?

What was the iOS version when this worked correctly and what is it now?
I can't think of any breaking changes since 2.27.0 that could cause this.

Everything worked fine with iPadOS 17/18 as long as I do not update past version 2.27 weeks is the person I am using right now on iPadOS 18.5 It seems that version 2.28 changed the playback engine used

I can confirm this for the latest releases of both iOS and filebrowser. Seems to work in fullscreen mode though.

On 2.34 I can switch to full screen by tapping the full screen icon but not with the zoom gesture. The tap and drag on the time slider does not work

Any news on this? All the issues are still present in latest version

Thank you
