Integrate iOS features
Hi all,
I recently had an app rejected from the app store:
We found the following issues with the user interface of your app:
Portions of your app loaded, refreshed, ran, and/or responded very slowly. For example, every page loaded slowly. (Q: Is there a way to preload the pages? Alternatively I can reduce the size of the images. )
Did not integrate with iOS features. For example, the user should be able to interact with your app content, ex: list, history, sort, etc. (Q: Is there a way to integrate any of these features?)
Did not include iOS features. For example, it would be appropriate to use native iOS buttons and iOS features other than just web views, Push Notifications, or sharing. Any advice or links would be most helpful.
Can you share images. I went through the approval process with Apple and it took a while. That was for an actual application, not a magazine. One of the problems with Apple approval on this is going to be them viewing this as an app rather than a magazine. I think Baker Newsstand will help with this, but I'm very new to Laker?Baker and still trying to figure it out.
Newsstand is only possible with subscriptions. Maybe the new Baker release fixes this. But it got nothing to do with laker.
cheers
Yes, but this is approval through Apple. They have numerous vague ways to disapprove submissions. A primary one is not having the app reflect the iOS design. They can also reject because a link opens Safari as opposed to opening within the application, and on and on. My point was if the Laker/Baker magazine is submitted via the Newsstand process in iTunes Connect it might be viewed differently by reviewers.
Florian what was your experience submitting this to Apple for the App Store? Maybe others who have had success can share their experience as well.

Hmm good question, I never were in the situation dealing with newsstand, because there was simply no functionality for it. Newsstand apps require, that there is a kiosk and subscription-model available. I dont know what happens with magazines I publish via newsstand. Did they even get checked by apple? I thought once you submitted the kiosk app, you can basically submit everything you want inside the app, because the data is pulled from your servers, not from apples.
