Add formatting bar in the editor
Hi,
This is not a high priority (at least for me), but it is a QoL that you might consider adding later. A formatting bar can simplify note writing, especially for those who struggle to remember all the markdown shortcuts. Having something like this available anywhere in the note would be awesome, at least as an optional thing you can toggle on/off:
Hi @endgor! Thanks for the suggestion.
We designed Hyprnote with “meeting” situations in mind. That said, we felt that implementing powerful formatting features might become distracting for users.
However, we could potentially add this as a feature flag that can be toggled on or off in Settings.
Here are a few options that come to mind at the moment:
Apple Note's styling menu in the toolbar
Notion's bubble menu
Thanks for your thoughtful suggestion!
Something that supports Markdown-compatible rich text features would be sufficient for sure.
The biggest thing for me is the ability to indent, and to use bullets and numbered lists - I use these extensively in other notes applications when taking notes as it helps me create structure of related points.
I do note you can take your notes elsewhere and paste rich text into the Hyprnote notes text box right now which is a reasonable workaround but obviously affects the intended workflow.
@dproud for sure. upgrading the wysiwyg editor is on our list. not sure if we'll add this or not but will def discuss about this. @duckduckhero can you take this?
