notification dialouge

i'm using this on android TV, and whilst i can see that there's 2 notifications in the taskbar, i don't see any way to view or interact with them, i'd have thought that clicking on the indicator would open some sort of pop up window with the notifications listed there, but it doesn't seem to do that, is there something i'm missing here ?
