As far as I know it's only mentioned on the wiki page for Super Smash Bros Brawl: https://github.com/farmerbb/RED-Project/wiki/Super-Smash-Bros.-Brawl

So not only is it good for extracting Virtual Console games from Wii, but it's also helpful for disc based Wii games with ROMs too.
