the vhs shader has a border, and we can get past it.

This is caused by the VHS shader: https://github.com/face-hh/griddycode/blob/master/Shaders/vhs_and_crt.gdshader

It's technically intended as the shader is supposed to act like a TV screen, but it should be fixable
