Micro:bit not found

When I run bluing --flash-micro-bit I get "Micro:bit not found"

bluing --flash-micro-bit
[ERROR] bluing.__main__
        Micro:bit not found

However, I am using btlejack on this Ubuntu 20.04 system with the Micro:bit (v1) just fine. So I know it's connected. How can I debug this?
