Grid header menu requires two clicks to expand in Firefox 71

Firefox (at least version 71.0) requires two clicks to expand grid header menus. The first click just highlights the header cell clicked; then a second click in dropdown trigger is necessary to actually expand the menu.
The dropdown trigger button has a boundary box for its "triangle pointing down" glyph. The issue only happens when the click happens within that boundary box. If the click goes around the glyph (that is, close to the limits of the trigger clickable area), the issue is not reproduced in Firefox.
Chrome works fine either way.
Note that this issue was raised in thread: GridFIlters: ListFilter not working, but the thread is focused in another issue; so not binding it here as the main issue thread.
