I just came across a post (again) where it didn't work. I'm not posting it here though as it's NSFW. But I might have found what's causing the issue: Say you have a URL where there's a country code in between the parts of the URL (e.g. https://gfycat.com/fr/EllipticalCreativeIrrawaddydolphin where the fr sets the page's language to French) then hoverzoom doesn't work with such an URL on reddit.
fixed https://github.com/extesy/hoverzoom/pull/409
What also doesn't work if it's URLs that contain "gifs/detail/" in between (where the before mentioned language defining part goes).
Nope that's fixed in https://github.com/extesy/hoverzoom/commit/72c03944b005f8607839a0ca7db4b9721302dbcf and should work perfectly fine, at least it does in the current chrome store version on chrome
I've uninstalled the extention to reinstall it from the store - and got version Version 1.0.123 (the same version I had before). I'm on Version 69.0.3497.100 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)
EDIT: Did it again, still Version 1.0.123
EDIT 2: I've restarted the browser, still not change.
EDIT 3: Deactivating the extension, using the update button from within the chrome extension page and re-activating the app still does not give a later version. So to me it seems the current chrome store version is not up to date for some reason.
As a last try I deleted the extension, re-started chrome, went to the store and re-installed it again - just to end up again with the same version as before. So it absolutely appears as if the version on the store is not up to date.
i'm running the same version of chrome and i'm running 1.0.132, can you post the link where it doesn't work?
It's on reddit and a NSFW gif... if you don't mind... what do you want, the reddit page where it's at or the link to the gif as used on reddit?
just post the link here without the ID part
so instead of https://gfycat.com/fr/EllipticalCreativeIrrawaddydolphin https://gfycat.com/fr/ID
https://gfycat.com/gifs/detail/ID
That seems to work perfectly fine for me, i can only imagine you're having some conflicting extension? I am running RES btw
Ok, so I just stumbled across an issue regarding the version: I originally was running Hover Zoom. When that had issues with certain links, I disabled it and installed Hover Zoom+. With these two I juggled back and forth for quite some time depending on which one was working at the time.
Recently Hover Zoom again had issues, just like Hover Zoom+ I went to check the store to find something that is working and got Hover Zoom GOLD!. And Hover Zoom GOLD! is what is currently active and running in my browser, on version 1.0.123.
I understand that Hover Zoom was the first and others took the code, made adjustments and uploaded their own extensions. Now, if I go into the options of Hover Zoom GOLD! and click on "Report Bug" at the bottom then - guess what - I'm ending up in here (https://github.com/extesy/hoverzoom/issues). The guy uploaded his version to the store but did not change the URLs... nice. Only when on the extension page in chrome and clicking on link to the extensions website I'm landing on his page (https://github.com/superlime/hoverzoomgold/).
I'm sorry that I wasn't more aware of where I'm at and well, my initial report helped improve the extension, but what's going on in the store with the extensions is just not ok (and I'm quite sure you do not like it too much either).
I'll now get rid of the "GOLD!" version and back to yours, that indeed is on Version 1.0.132. Again, sorry for the confusion (though I mostly blame that other guy for taking your code).
EDIT: I don't know what RES is.
EDIT: I don't see his extension being officially a branch of your git so... I don't know, I feel like reporting him for stealing your code but don't know where I'd do that.
I see :) well i suppose he's free to do so since this is open source, but Hover Zoom+ is afaik "the real thing" the original Hover Zoom had some malware or something and this version removes that.
Thanks for clearing that up. By the way, you might want to also add a "Report Bug" link to your extension (linking to here).
EDIT: Never mind, this is just too confusing... all the extensions called Hover Zoom... yours is Hover Zoom+ and the link of course is already there.
