How to Prioritize Thunderbolt 5 Connection in Exo?

Open sivagaga opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

Hi exoer,

I am using Thunderbolt 5 to connect a Mac Studio and a Mac Mini. I have tested the connection, and it works. However, when I start Exo, the two devices only establish a connection over WiFi instead of Thunderbolt.

Isn’t Thunderbolt supposed to be faster and have a higher priority? How can I manually specify the connection link between the two nodes?

Thanks in advance for your help! 🙏

Best regards

Hi actually I also feel confused about the connection priority as well. You may just close wifi on one of your two macs then connect with your thunderbolt 5 so that both macs can recognize the connection with each other as well as the exo.
or perhaps just using thunderbolt5 as the connection before starting the exo shall be working but is not always the best.

Go to Settings / Network / click ... / Set Service Order move TB connection to the top. restart Exo

I’m glad to hear back from you. Actually, I’ve already tried that, but it didn’t work at all. Looks like I’ll have to modify the code myself. 😢

I tried to run exo with key --interface-type-filter Thunderbolt. It worked for me
