Compare/Contrast moderation, spam, notification capabilities

Open westurner opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

Would it be helpful to mention or compare the moderation and spam-fighting and notification capabilities of each service? Possible features for comparison:

  • Content author can delete / hide
  • Content author can report / block
  • Comments / annotations are screened by spam-fighting service
  • Content / author can label as e.g. toxic
  • Content author receives notification of new comments
  • Content author can require approval before user-contributed content is publicly-visible
  • Content author may allow comments for a limited amount of time (probably more relevant to BlogPostings)
  • Content author may simultaneously denounce censorship in an it's forms while allowing previously-published works to languish

Perhaps this could start off as a "wiki"-style post in the executablebooks discussions page or the Jupyter community forum that we link from the docs, and if enough folks find it useful we can incorporate it into the docs more directly.

Looks like GH Discussions don't do trackbacks (yet?). (edit: I sent feedback re: this feature)

Here's a link to the new discussion post:
