Disable tap and gestures outside of menu when menu is open

I noticed that popular apps such as Spotify will disable everything outside of the menu view (except the toggle button) when the menu is open. This would be a nice feature to add to this menu. All it would need to do is disable everything from menu width to the edge of the screen. This would leave tap open on the navigation bar to allow the toggle button to work.
