Problem in passing the program to ev3

Hi guys, sorry for the inconvenience but I'm very new with ev3, the problem is not with the code but with passing the code to the ev3! I'm using the school's ev3 and it doesn't connect to the usb port so I have to pass it with an SD card but when I connect it, the programming doesn't appear. The teacher said I have to create an image but I don't know how to do that, can anyone help? thanks

If the EV3's on school do have an ev3dev sd-card you might ask the teacher for a copy.

If NOT, this might be a good place to start getting started with ev3dev
