Custom SEO stopped working after upgrade

Open adrienne opened this issue 7 years ago • 7 comments

Description

After the most recent SEO upgrade (and upgrading to Craft 3.1) my custom SEO tags have just stopped working. This used to work:

craft.seo.custom(
    {
        title: 'The Page Title',
        someField: 'Hello world!',
    },
    'The page description'
)

And it no longer does.

Additional info

  • Craft version: 3.1.7
  • SEO version: 3.5.4
  • PHP version: 7.2.14
  • Database driver & version: MySQL 5.6.43

I ran into the same issue with Craft 3.4 and SEO 3.6

Has this ever been addressed? I'm on v4.2.2 and still having trouble with custom.

Seems the workaround is to completely replace the template and update settings to point to the custom template. If the inline custom override is no longer an option it should be removed from the documentation!
