Kwikset 916 not locking or unlocking from lock keypad
Hi Erik!
History: I had one Kwikset 916 lock & I was using a copy of the Lock Manager which was an older version which was only 2 modules (device type & lock-manager itself)...This lock could be locked/unlocked from the keypad as well as from the SmartThings app...Then I needed to make a few changes to my configuration:
- Removed current lock from hub thru the app.
- Deleted copy of SmartApp from The IDE.
- Changed board in current lock (as batteries were draining in just a few days) & added it back to the hub thru the app.
- Added a new Kwikset 916 (different color) to another door and added it to the hub using the app.
- Added Github repository integration & linked to your LockManager folder (ethayer/Lock-Manager) using the IDE.
- Added the device handler & the parent & 2 of 3 child apps from that repository thru the IDE & published all these apps...I did not add/publish the keypad child app as I don't have a separate keypad.
- Configured
the LockManager app for both locks thru the SmartThings app...Wondering if I missed something here?
Issue: Both locks work properly (open/close & report back on manual operation) from the app...Neither lock responds properly when keypad is used...If I activate the lock keypad & hit the lock symbol, it beeps & "1-3-5-7-9" flashes...Some additional info:
- 5 codes were entered from app...None were entered at lock from keypad...The same beep / "1-3-5-7-9" flash happens if I try one of these codes when the lock is locked...I assume this will get fixed once I can get it to lock from the keypad.
- No errors are displaying in the IDE log when the keypad in unsuccessfully used...The manual lock/unlock operation is being logged which is probably why I also see that notification on my phone.
- Both locks are functioning the exact same way.
Any ideas? Need any additional info or clarification?
Thanks for the help, Mike
I'm having the same issue with my kwikset 916. It was working flawlessly for a long time then something broke.
I'm having the same problem keys you enter in the app don't push to the actual 916 to unlock the door.
