Imported contacts not getting served to other apps

Imported contacts show up in the Etesync app, but don't get served to other apps on Android. I tried two different contact apps. If I add new contacts in these contact apps, they get synced properly and also served to other apps, but not the imported ones.

Etesync 2.2.4 on GrapheneOS (Android 12) Contacts apps: Simple Contacts and the GrapheneOS standard Contacts apps (I think it is the AOSP one)

Importing literally just copies them to the android contact list, so I'm very surprised it's not there. I don't even know where to start thinking about debugging this.

@PhysicsIsAwesome I'm also running GrapheneOS & am not having this issue. Is this still an issue for you?

I got it to work back then, but tbh I don't remember how. Sorry for not reporting back. Have not tried importing other contacts since then, so I am not sure, whether there still is an issue. Since no-one else seems to have reported the same problem, I would not mind closing the issue.
