I just downloaded it for the first time ever and installed it with no issue.

Regarding your issue, it's just security...your user does not have permissions to create a folder in the programs directory. Run the installer as an administrator and it will probably work.

I came to the issues first, as this is branded 2016, so I wasn't sure it would work with O365 version and I saw your post and just decided to give it a gamble and it worked!

I'm running the Office 365 version of OneNote.

Hi Liono,

just wanted to give a quick heads up that it worked for me, although **it did ask ** for administrative privileges. So you should probably check whether you are administrator and can make changes to the C:\Program Files\ directory. If you are administrator on the pc, please check the permissions of the Program Files folder by right clicking it -> Properties -> Permissions and check if the admin group still has read AND write permission. This can sometimes be changed by other programs such as anti-malware or optimization suites not completing tasks properly.

Does the installer ask you for privileges at all? It does not appear so in your recording.

Greetings, Domml
