Reading pane flashes previous email when switching from empty folder to another empty folder

Describe the bug

Reading pane flashes a previously read email when switching from empty folder to another empty folder.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open any email
2. Click on an empty folder
3. Click on another empty folder
4. A previously read email is flashed for a brief moment

Expected behavior

The reading pane consistently shows "No conversations in folder"
