Feature
I would like to package a "stable" version of Pantheon Dock for Archlinux.
Describe the solution you'd like Using git tag, mark a commit to Pantheon Dock as a "release" and give it a version number.
Existing work Most of elementary OS's software uses tagged releases to denote "stable" versions, if/when they exist.
I would also like this. In nixos we use elementary-dock because you've made the following changes:
- removed cerbere and just do everything from gnome-session
- patched this fork of plank to register with gnome-session https://github.com/elementary/dock/commit/a8d2f255b2909cc548a13021fd4c0641c4249896
- installed your own autostart https://github.com/elementary/dock/commit/9315773dfc2280e5734b774e72d482d7a335868d
So if you were to stop using cerbere in a downstream you will not have a dock running. It's pretty important that an official release is made and that downstreams know that they need to package this and replace it for plank.
