Browsing folders in the sidebar jumps around

I have a big project which when fully extended causes the sidebar to scroll.

I scroll to the bottom and open a file there. I then go to the top and expand any of the folders there. After the folder has been expanded the sidebar then scrolls all the way down so that the file which was previously open is visible.

The expected behavior is that when a folder has been expanded there is no scroll jumping so that I can continue my browsing.
