<Ctrl>K is intercepted when using e.g. nano in terminal pane

What Happened?

Editing a commit message in the terminal pane with e.g. nano, attempted to cut a block of text but on pressing the nano hot-key <Ctrl>K the focus jumped to the document view and a line of text was blanked unexpectedly.

Steps to Reproduce

Open a document, place cursor on a line of text Open nano in the terminal pane and focus nano press <Ctrl>K observe line blanked in doc

Expected Behavior

Hot-keys are passed to terminal pane process and not acted on while the pane is focused.
