Renaming a tracked folder or file does not warn or update git

What Happened?

Renamed a tracked folder inside a git repository using the sidebar. The folder was renamed but git was not updated resulting in large numbers of untracked files.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open a git repository
2. Rename of folder
3. Check git status

Expected Behavior

Either git should be updated transparently so the files continue to be tracked or show a dialog warning and giving option to update git.
