Unable to connect to private server, error message, cannot connect please check your network

I am facing the same Problem right now.

I have installed the server with a docker-container. Afterwards i checked the SERVER_IP:8008 and got a success message that synapse is running. So i downloaded the desktop app and created a new user successfully. I also tried connecting with the domain of the server like http://DOMAIN:8008 and it worked like a charm.

Afterwards i wanted to create a new user with my smartphone to chat with my desktop-client. When i try to login with the same serveraddress (doesnt matter if it is SERVER_IP:8008 or http://DOMAIN:8008), the app on my phone just tells me i should check my internet connection. ('No Network. Please check your internet connection')

I have internet for sure and i am still logged into my account on the desktop app but the mobile app just refuses to take any successfully tested matrix hosts.
