Desktop Recorder Capturing Microphone Audio but Not System Audio

Open rocktimsaikia opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Repository: electron-recorder-test

Description: I’m developing a desktop recorder using the code available in the linked repository. While testing, I encountered an issue where only my microphone audio is being recorded, but system audio (e.g., audio from a Google Meet session or any other system sounds) is not captured.

For instance, during a Google Meet call, my voice is recorded, but the other participants’ voices, which are played through the system speakers, are not. I’ve tried various online suggestions to resolve the issue, but none have worked so far.

Steps to Reproduce:

  • Clone the repo above and start the dev server.
  • Start a Google Meet or play an Youtube video.
  • Use the recorder to capture both microphone audio and system audio.
  • Review the recorded output: only microphone audio is captured, system audio is missing.

Expected Behavior: Both microphone and system audio (including any external sound played through the desktop speakers) should be captured in the recording.

We require the template to be filled out on all new issues and pull requests. We do this so that we can be certain we have all the information we need to address your submission efficiently. This allows the maintainers to spend more time fixing bugs, implementing enhancements, and reviewing and merging pull requests.

We will be able to more closely look at your issue once you do so. This issue will be closed in 10 days if the above is not addressed.
