edit_dimensions.py: Updated to be compatible with Blender 2.80
I have updated the file to be compatible with the new release of Blender 2.80
hi eleotlecram. thanks so mutch for updating this to 2.8.
question: do you think its possible to scale somehow from left/right/top/bottom of selected polygons? to scale from 3d cursor position would be cool.
thanks, manu

Hi Manu,
Scaling/setting dimensions from 3D cursor already works. Just don't forget to set 3D cursor to be the Pivot Point for transformations. And with that, your other requests are also covered, just snap the 3D cursor to whichever anchor you want to use.
Kind regards,
Marcel
PS My fork also supports editing dimensions of rotated objects. Maybe you want to check that out as well: https://github.com/EleotleCram/MeshTools/tree/master
wow, so simple. now this script makes so mutch more sense. thanks marcel

One more question Marcel, is it possible to have edit dimension "always on" in N Panel - Item (as it is in object mode). So you just leave N panel open and always see live dimensions of selected objects.

Hi Manu,
You can check out my updated version of the addon, it has the Edit Dimension in the N-Panel now:

Hey Marcel,
wow, thank you very much. Already a game changer for me. Thanks. Is it possible to get the live data in N panel when in edit mode?
Thanks, Manu

Hi Manu,
I can update the values as often as I like. The problem is, that my callback gets called very often (every time the 3D viewport updates). If I calculate the bounds on every callback, it will overload the system. Therefore, I chose to update only upon selection changed at the moment. (And I'm still tweaking the detection of "selection" changed; I have just pushed another update a few minutes ago) So, if we can come up with a good detection for when the values needs updating, I can implement it.
Cheers,
Marcel
Hi Manu,
I've created a ticket for your suggested enhancement in the issue tracker of my fork here:
https://github.com/EleotleCram/MeshTools/issues/1
Given that my pull request has not been honoured for quite a while now and not even received a response from the maintainer, I am going to assume that he/she has found other things to attend to, so I consider this upstream git repo abandoned. I will take the project forward from my fork from now on. If you have further input/improvements/suggestions, please contact me in the issue tracker above.
Cheers,
Marcel
