[Feature Request] Explain or Remove the Popup Shown When Starting Eigent Locally

Open Pakchoioioi opened this issue 1 month ago • 3 comments

Motivation

When starting Eigent in a local environment, a popup window appears.

Could please clarify: What is the purpose of this web?

Additionally, is there a way to disable or remove this popup when running Eigent locally? If it is not critical for local development, having an option to turn it off would improve the developer experience.

Hi there @Pakchoioioi , in my version 0.0.77 it doesn't seem to be popping up anymore. When running with "npm run dev" right?

Eigent uses electron to run, and uses port 5173 just like chrome and others uses ports for cdp. You don't need to open this link as it is rendered in Eigent app instead by default Previously it was opening it automatically and I thought that was the case, but that has been solved some time ago In this case I think Cursor looked at the url in the console and thought to open it. @a7m-1st

Yes, thanks for forwarding my response @Pakchoioioi. I just quickly surveyed port 5173 and it is no where to be found in the clientside. I think its an internal vite port by default which Cursor expects the user to open.

The main issue has been solved here https://github.com/eigent-ai/eigent/issues/514 (the login popup), and if you see the port it seems that port 5173 is the port for the renderer vite process ✅
