Ability to define value that shows in the UI for linked objects

Just copy/pasting from Discord for now. Can expand if needed. Is there a way for me to display some value, for example the 'username' property here? Feel like it could be an annotation, like 'name' and you point that to whichever property you want to see appear (e.g. id, a property called name, whatever you want).
