[UI] Extensions editor somethimes deletes file contents and auto-saves on open

Describe the bug Sometimes, when you open an extension file, the Extensions editor deletes the contents and saves the file automatically resulting in an empty file.

Expected behavior The Extensions editor should not delete the file contents and it should definitely not auto-save.
