[Templates] Consider moving the 'Edit' button to the details view

At the moment the 'Edit' button resides in the master view but clicking it actually triggers editing in the details view. From an UX perspective, wouldn't it be better to move it to the details view?

Here is a mock-up of the detail view with a toolbar containing the "Edit" button:

When the "Edit" button is selected, it will be hidden and a bottom toolbar containing the "Save" and "Cancel" buttons will appear:
