I do not see the bar

Open GabeSoler opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Describe the bug

I cannot see the bar, only the >. It is a bit confusing to use, but it is a space there that does the work.

Steps to reproduce

Download, run the app and the problem is there

FYI: You can do a right-click on the arrow icon

Same issue. I can see the arrow, I can click the arrow and it changes direction, but there are no bars, and right-clicking on the arrow doesn't do anything. I can Cmd+drag the arrow, too, which doesn't do anything besides changing its position. Nothing is hidden. Tried installing from App store and via brew—same result. Sonoma 14.7.1, M3. 2024-12-09 08 12 47

Same issue for me. It just stopped working out of nowhere. Apple M3 Pro. Sonoma 14.7.2

Had same issue right after I installed the app from App Store. I restarted my MacBook and the hidden bar was then there and was then able to hide applications. Might be an issue when installed and so.

Same, it still functions - I only found it by clicking around but it's not visible

I tried the trick some have mentioned of pressing 'right click', which in my case was 'double finger' and the bar appears :)

To help anyone coming around here, I solved the problem this way: https://github.com/dwarvesf/hidden/issues/322#issuecomment-2897260059

Ok found the problem.

You need reduce the number of icons in the menu bar. Icons too close to the notch are hidden. It is not obvious because icons are not really too close to the notch. So close a maximum of apps and bar will reappear :) Or you can use https://apps.apple.com/fr/app/say-no-to-notch/id1639306886 to get temporary rid of the notch ;)
