Add option to follow system theme

Hey, just found the app today and loving the simplicity!

Would it be possible to add a "follow system theme" option?

i.e. mac os system theme = dark, use flatnotes dark theme mac os system theme = light, use flatnotes light theme

This is the default behaviour when you first launch flatnotes but, as soon as you toggle the theme, the last theme set becomes the default.

If you want, you can clear the related local storage value and the behaviour will go back to following the system theme. Just don't press the theme toggle button afterwards.

I did toy with adding an explicit 'follow system theme' option but it complicated the control a little and I figured most people would just use one or the other. Do you change your system theme regularly?

Ah gotcha! Mainly if I’m outside and it’s really sunny I’ll change the system then to light but other than I’m primarily in dark mode.

I think if the behaviour was documented that might be ok? Otherwise it’s a bit hidden.
