xGroup: Why are Credentials mandatory?

Not sure why in xGroup Resource, you must provide credentials to manage the group; that shouldn't be required since the computer will run under SYSTEM context and group members can be managed without any issues. Even in an AD world, SYSTEM would be able to query AD since it's acting as the computer account.
