AltStore.ipa cannot be installed via USB
Hello, fyi I am Xueru from reddit.
I got some error code when I tried this command
./AltServer -u udid -a [email protected] -p password AltStore.ipa
Alert: Could not install AltStore.ipa to unknown.
A device with number 'udid' already exists on this team. (35)

the avahi service is running locally, usbmuxd is not running locally
Unfortunately I haven't tested installing using USB, but this issue seems to be all over the web, i searched the altstore repos and reddit and have found numerous people having this issue who haven't been able to solve it and others who have by doing several things like removing every trace of altstore and any app sideloaded currently on the device and other things.
The issue supposedly doesn't exist in recent versions of altstore (i pull the latest in this project), but the issue is a bit out of my hands, i have never encountered it and it's the first time i read about it.
With the limited things i've read i can suggest you a few things:
- Try a different apple ID
- Remove all traces of sideloaded apps and alstore and reinstall ideally using the windows or mac version of altstore, but if you want you can try with this containerized version
- If all else fails and you're unable to solve this issue, use sidestore, which doesn't require an altserver
