It'd be great to have a way to chose the quantity of square of checky, especially when applied to an ordinary or a charge

What would the blazon for this be? a bend checky of 3 (rows?) gules and or?

karlwilcox avatar Sep 12 '22 22:09 karlwilcox

yes, that would be my solution

This is the blazon in Italian: "Bandato di tre pezzi scaccati di tre file di rosso e d'oro, alternati a tre d'argento pieno; la bordura inchiavata d'oro e di nero" it reads: Bendy of 3 Checky of 3 rows gules or and Argent, a bordure indented or and sable

in draw shield would be a bordure sable a bordure indented or

PaoloRuben avatar Sep 14 '22 18:09 PaoloRuben

this also reminds me, there is no "3 bends"option on drawshields and bendlets don't support checky

As far as I know there are only ever two bends in British Heraldry, 3 bends is anyway visually almost the same as:

bendy of 6 checky gules and or, and argent

Which if we fix the check will produce the shield above

I have a sneaky fix for check of 3 rows (which also improves check on the chevron and saltire) --- watch this space.

I think I know what you want to do but I don't know if lozenge is the answer, also it doesn't matter work for any other division or ordinary

This turns out to be quite a bit of work.
