statvent is not thread-safe

statvent uses += to do incr. That operation is not thread-safe. If multiple threads are incrementing a metric at the same time, some of the increments will probably be lost.

Looking into the best way to solve this. It currently isn't an issue for my production use of statvent (in a single-threaded event loop) but it's gross and I want to fix it.
