I create a new app shortcut, but it doesn't appear...

When I create a new shortcut icon, it does not appear in the icon menu, requiring me to restart the computer for it to appear. Can someone help me?

You should try at least to reload the shell (using ALT+F2 and type r). It's more convenient than relogin or reboot.
