Unable to access photo gallery from my camera

When I'm in my camera, the gallery photo is in the bottom right hand corner, but when I click on it to get to the gallery, it freezes and shows only a black screen. This is on my motorola one action. The gallery also takes a while to update with recently taken pictures or videos
