Mapping location to appear as a local disk in VM

How would I go about mapping a share/location to a drive letter that would appear as a local drive to Windows in the VM?

Thanks for this!

See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/map-a-network-drive-in-windows-29ce55d1-34e3-a7e2-4801-131475f9557d for an example.

That way you can mount //host.lan/Data to a drive called X:. Its a feature of Windows.

Thanks. THAT I know how to do but it won't appear as a local drive to the OS - it will appear as a mapped network drive. I'm looking for a way (other than using something, say, Dokan in the VM) to map to a drive that will appear s a local/physical drive to the VM
