caldav support for tasks?

does this support connecting to caldav? im using baikal for caldav/cardav

I thought this with opensync would make this app see my tasks from my caldav server...?

It does, you'll need another app to sync with your CalDav-Server like DAVx5 for example, though.

I find that strange. Isn't opensync and opentasks the same developer? When open sync is install with android I can configure caldav for the calendagoogle calendar if I recall correctly...

Two different things (technically). DAVx5 sets u up an account like Google (https://www.davx5.com/tested-with/baikal)
