` a + any other key - Doesn't work

Open LouisWhit opened this issue 11 years ago • 6 comments

I am noticing that a three key combos using ` a 1 (and many other strange combinations of three key combo's using Tilda with numbers and letters) do not work. Any Ideas? I suspect it is my microsoft natural keyboard. Please close if you cannot replicate.

Thank you

I am also seeing this. I'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

The problem here is that you cannot hit a shifted key (~) and a non-shifted key (1) in the same combo because one requires shift to be pressed, and the other requires that it not be pressed. The solution is to make the base/non-shifted key match even when shift is pressed. I'll look into doing this.

What I find to be very odd is that tilda + a + 1 does not work... Yet tilda + q + 1 does work. I find that A,B,G,P,V,Y are the letters that are not compatible with three key combos including the tilda key.

Oh interesting, I'll try that out.

I can't reproduce this issue in the same way in Chrome at least. Try this for tilde + a + 1:

  1. Hold shift
  2. Press and release tilde
  3. Release shift
  4. Press and release a
  5. Press and release 1

This fires the up and down events as expected. So I was slightly wrong above in that you CAN hit combos that include both shifted and non-shifted keys, it's just a little awkward. Maybe not worth fixing though.

I agree it may be too obscure to justify spending much time working on it. We just altered our combo's to ones that do work seamlessly. Keep up the good work!
