I'm sad that this project has died. I'll have a chat at work about us picking this up. In the meantime, https://pythonhosted.org/CouchDB/ is now dead so there's no more documentation unless you hit archive.org.
I can volunteer to host the docs on a private server for the time being.
I've set up a project at ReadTheDocs to correct this, so the docs are now at http://couchdb-python.readthedocs.io/en/latest/. Do you want to submit a PR to update links to the previous location?
(The docs are down because the PyPI-hosted service no longer allows updates -- so I took it down in order to prevent us from having obsolete docs out there.)
