Slow movement

Open arnoubrecht opened this issue 6 years ago • 11 comments

Hi,

My page is really slowly in going up with your button. It takes like 10 seconds going for bottom to top. Any idea what can fix this issue?

I'm afraid I have never experienced this issue. Can you provide browser, device, OS that your experiencing this issue? Also is this happening all the time or intermittently? Any information you con provide would be helpful. Also make sure your AnimationDuration prop is not set very high, the higher the number the longer it will take.

Hi,

Thanks for the fast response. I use the default button so I don't set any AnimationDuration (

<ScrollUpButton />
and then a bunch of code)

I work on a HP computer (windows 10). I use the browser google chrome. I face this issue all the time, if it would be helpful I could share a video of my screen.

Kind regards,

Brecht

guys I think this issue has something to do with this css:

html {
  scroll-behavior: smooth;
}

It's scolling slowly for me too if I set scroll-behavior: smooth

@dirtyredz funny thing is it even happening on page mentioned in description: https://react-scroll-up-button.com/ You can simulate it yourself when you open up DevTools and add scroll-behavior: smooth; to html element through element inspector, this way: http://prntscr.com/ogcpt1. Then click on icon to scroll.

I can confirm the bug, Thanks @jbutko . Ill see what I can come up with.

I had the same bug where scrolling took forever to complete. What helped me was changing html scroll-behavior to : 'auto !important'

I've found that it never scrolls when you click. I just waits for you to start scrolling and then (no matter your direction) zooms to the top. I think it has to do with the stopping animation function?
