Request; connect parameter to material

Is it possible to create a parameter for the familyinstance.bygeometry.

In the current node you can add a material, but it would be nice if you could connect this material to a parameter, then you could change the color of the element with a parameter, this parameter could be driven by other dynamo scripts or in case of an shared parameter the materials could be scheduled.
